Where to go when you’re in Rotterdam and want to visit a pop or rock concert? There’s the small venue Rotown of course, which is always a lot of fun. And there’s the huge stadium of Ahoy or the Kuip. But that’s not what you need if you just want to see a good show. For years now, we don’t have a large modern musical venue (1500 visitors). So we go to Utrecht or Amsterdam instead. Rotterdam might be a big and beautiful city, but this sure is something we miss profoundly. Occasionally you can visit a music show at the theatre, but that’s only a couple of times a year.
And now there’s something new on it’s way. The venue Annabel, hosted by the Rotterdam based entrepreneur Aziz Yagoub. You can imagine we’re all very excited to see what it’s going to be – so for Vers Beton Melanie Drent tried to picture the girls name as a real person, not a building. Her founder is holding her tight. She is holding a musical heart in her hands: it’s the heart of the city that beats to the music vibe, and the heart of the music lover that pumps with it. Aziz and Annabel, we wish you luck!
